Questions

Q: How long have you been with Winston?

Camila Arias-Leal: September 29, 2024, is 10 years with the company!

Q: What do you enjoy most about working at Winston?

Camila Arias-Leal: I have met wonderful people who have taught me a lot. Over the years, I have been able to help Hispanic communities that work for our clients with their benefits and advocate for them.

Q: What skills or qualities do you think are most important for your role?

Camila Arias-Leal: Everyone’s health is important. Understanding and empathizing with callers’ situations could resolve an issue regarding their employee benefits. Being resourceful, in many cases, we need to deliver some not-so-good feedback, but providing other options or explaining future timeframes per the client’s guidelines could be the best resolution of an issue..

Q: What project or accomplishment are you particularly proud of?

Camila Arias-Leal: Every year’s open enrollment is a new project and approach for each client, where we look to better assist them. It’s a great accomplishment for the Call Center and the company as a whole, and I am proud of.

Q: How did you start your career, and what inspired you to join Winston?

Camila Arias-Leal: I was recommended by an acquaintance. I read about Winston and all they did in the employee benefits field and was very impressed by them. I had also just come out of an emergency surgery, and knowing very little regarding benefits and how they worked, I knew I wanted to learn and be able to help people like me understand their benefits and make an informed decision.

Q: Do you have any advice for someone starting out in your field?

Camila Arias-Leal: Employee benefits could be the most important part of an employee’s life. We are more than a benefits representative; in a way, we are a chance to help employees make the best benefits decision that meets their needs. On the other hand, we do not know what a person is going through, but being empathetic, understanding, and caring about others’ situations could make the biggest difference in someone’s future health and make our jobs rewarding whether we are aware of the outcome or not.
